Eyes open spontaneously (EOS)

- “are patient’s eyes open when you walk into room?” but also if they are sleeping and they arise to your voice or stim and maintain eyes open without further stim, that is also considered EOS

Eyes to voice (ETV)

- require constant verbal stimulation to keep eyes open

Eyes to pain (ETP)

- require constant painful stimulation to keep eyes open

- no amount of verbal stim wakes up patient
